Tuition for the 2019-2020 academic year includes 36 weekly lessons, beginning August 19th, 2019. Tuition is paid in 9 equal monthly increments (September-May) or two equal semester increments (September and January). The 2019 summer semester includes 8 weeks of instruction offered June 8th-August 9th, 2019.
An annual registration fee of $35 will be included on the first invoice of the academic year. This fee is applied towards student home access to teaching tools such as Piano Maestro, incentive programs, supplies, recitals, administrative costs, and other educational resources.
Method books and additional music may be purchased from the studio at cost. Additional event fees may be required for recitals, festivals, competitions and other performance events.
Statements will be emailed the first week of each month with a reminder of current tuition charges, as well as any additional material or event fees. Tuition is due on the 15th of each month. A $10 late fee will be assessed on all late payments. Failure to submit payment by the end of the month will result in termination of the student by the studio and the matter will be turned over to a collection agency for resolution.
Students should plan to commit to lessons for the full school year so that your preferred lesson time can be held. If unforeseen circumstances require a student to terminate lessons mid-year, one month’s paid notice is required to end lessons.
Lessons for adult students ages 18 and older are offered on an ongoing monthly tuition basis, with the option of a weekly or bi-weekly (every other week) lesson schedule. Lessons can be cancelled up to 24-hours prior to your lesson via the online studio calendar. Students are responsible for scheduling make-up lessons within one month of each missed lesson. Make-up lesson availability is not guaranteed by the studio. Lessons canceled less than 24-hours prior to your lesson will be charged.
Students should expect to continue lessons on at least a part-time schedule through the summer to maintain the skills they develop through the school year.
If a student cannot attend at least 4 lessons during the summer semester, a $100 hold fee per student is available to keep a spot in the studio in the fall.
Students who do not hold their spot or enroll for summer lessons are not guaranteed a spot in the studio for the fall semester.
We offer students an opportunity to participate in one annual studio recital, 1-2 community service recitals a year, and optional branch recitals every month. Recitals are a wonderful way to share what students have learned throughout the year with their families and friends, while developing performance skills such as poise, self-confidence, musical polish, and showmanship.
Along with practice, regular attendance is essential for student progress and to avoid frustration. In the event that your student needs to miss a lesson because of illness or emergency, please contact me with as much advance notice as possible. Make-ups for missed lessons are not guaranteed. No refunds will be given for missed lessons. Advance notice of cancellations must be given at least 24 hours in advance.
Any lessons that teachers miss due to illness or emergency will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
Please be prompt – lesson times cannot be extended for students who arrive late. Students should be picked up promptly at the end of their lesson time.
Lessons can be discontinued for any reason. One month’s paid notice is required.
Our primary concern at Susie Fong Music Studio is the welfare and safety of our students, as well as that of our teachers and studio. For this reason, as well as for coaching and training purposes, we use visible, closed circuit security cameras and microphones in the studio. We encourage any questions regarding this; we have found that our students and parents appreciate this extra security measure.
