Studio Policy

Tuition for the 2018-2019 academic year includes 33 weeks of instruction, beginning August 20th, 2018. The 2018 summer semester includes 10 weeks of instruction May 29th-August 10th, 2018. Tuition may be paid in equal monthly or semester increments.

Method books and music may be purchased from the studio at cost. Additional event fees may be required for recitals, festivals, competitions and other performance events.

Statements will be emailed the first week of each month with a reminder of current tuition charges, as well as any additional material or event fees.

Students should plan to commit to lessons for the full school year so that your preferred lesson time can be held. If unforeseen circumstances require a student to terminate lessons mid-year, one month’s paid notice is required to end lessons.

Tuition Rates & Payment Schedule

If paying by semester, tuition is due at the first lesson in September, June, and January. If paying in monthly installments, tuition is due on the 15th of each month. A $10 late fee will be assessed on all late payments. Failure to submit payment by the end of the month will result in termination of the student by the studio and the matter will be turned over to a collection agency for resolution.

Summer Lessons

Students should expect to continue lessons on at least a part-time schedule through the summer to maintain the skills they develop through the school year.

Summer lessons are offered at a semester rate for those who would like to continue lessons on a regular schedule. Students who would like to take time off have the option of paying a per-lesson fee on a monthly basis, due on the first lesson of each month.

Students who do not enroll for summer lessons are not guaranteed a spot in the studio for the fall, as registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis each academic year.

Studio Recitals

I offer my students an opportunity to participate in one annual studio recital and optional branch recitals every month. Recitals are a wonderful way to share what students have learned throughout the year with their families and friends, while developing performance skills such as poise, self-confidence, musical polish, and showmanship.

Along with practice, regular attendance is essential for student progress and to avoid frustration. Lessons must be canceled with at least 24-hours notice in order to be rescheduled. In the event that your student needs to miss a lesson because of illness or emergency, please contact me with as much advance notice as possible. Make-ups for missed lessons are not guaranteed. No refunds will be given for missed lessons.

Any lessons that I miss due to illness or emergency will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

Please be prompt – lesson times cannot be extended for students who arrive late. Students should be picked up promptly at the end of their lesson time.
